A little about the house and the area

About the name: accommodating chemical sensitivities and allergies

We started the Clear Air Mountain House partially because most vacation rentals cannot accommodate chemical sensitivities, so we ask all guests to help keep the space safe for us, and others with similar sensitivities and allergies. We appreciate your help! Here's the lowdown:

Thank you for helping keep the space as allergen-free as possible; we hope you'll enjoy it!

What's it like to stay at the Clear Air Mountain House?

The Clear Air Mountain House is built with a very open floor plan. There are 2 large living+sleeping spaces that we call great-rooms, and a large sunroom (with swim-spa, which includes an endless current lap pool and massage jets). There's also a kitchen and dining area, multiple entry rooms, 2 bathrooms, 2 porches, a garage, a yard and a garden (which features some lovely landscaped gathering / relaxation areas).

Renters have full access to the kitchen, main bath, main porch, yard and garden, laundry, and garage, in addition to their suite(s). When visiting the house, quiet hours of 11:30pm to 8:30am apply.

Room descriptions

River Room:
The first floor is composed of a chlorine-free swim spa in a sunroom, and a 422-square-foot suite we call the River Room. The River Room sleeps 3 comfortably and 6 (maybe more if you know each other well?) with the use of futons and air mattresses. The River Room features renewable solid strand-woven blond bamboo floors; a wood-burning stove that heats the house in cool weather; an all-natural latex Invigo twin bed in a curtained nook; a 7-piece natural leather-and-hardwood sectional sofa with recliners, a comfy all-pine futon (plus optional latex topper), and tri-fold Certipur memory-foam-and-latex comfort mat(s). A hideaway bed is available if needed.

Rainbow Room:
The second floor has the gourmet kitchen, the dining room (with a propane gas fireplace/heating stove), the main bathroom, the laundry room, and the ~480 square-foot suite we call the Rainbow Room. It contains 2 European Sleepworks Alpine HDM beds (one full and one queen), 2 all-natural latex Invigo twin beds (set up as a daybed with trundle), and a queen sofa sleeper with optional natural latex topper. Through the use of rainbow curtains, the room can be quickly transformed from a sleeping room, to a gathering room, and back again. The floors in the Rainbow Room are milled from trees thinned on the property for fire safety. The previous owner milled the boards himself, and laid the floor as well.
